Daphne, Alabama, is a peaceful place to raise a family. If you want to connect with your family this summer without going far, we're here to help. Tameron Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat explored some of the best that Daphne has to offer to bring you this list of action-packed, family-friendly activities to enjoy this summer. Here's Tameron CDJRF's list of seven activities for family fun in Daphne, Alabama.

Wheel Around at Hot Wheels Skating Center

A family-owned business that's been serving Daphne for years and a supporter of Baldwin County Schools, Hot Wheels Skating Center is an active part of the community. This roller rink hosts open skating in the afternoons from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and each week has a kid-friendly theme like Disney or pirates and princesses. There are also opportunities to skate as a family on the weekends, with open skate hours from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

If your little ones get tired and need a break from skating, they can play in the on-site arcade. You can also fuel up with a snack from the concession stand. With bright lights and neon decor, Hot Wheels Skating Center offers a safe and lively environment for families to get some exercise together. Plus, safety is priority here, so you can trust that you're in good hands.

Walk the Beach at Bayfront Park

Living by Mobile Bay never gets old. If you're up for a day in the sun, load your loved ones into the car along with a beach bag full of snacks, sunscreen, and some good walking shoes, and head to Bayfront Park. This peaceful slice of shore offers stunning views of the bay's crystal waters. It's a great spot for a family beach walk, and you can rent kayaks and canoes to explore the waters. If you want to get some exercise without getting sand between your toes, opt for one of the paved walking trails nearby.

Consider hanging around the park all day, because the pier is one of the best spots in town to watch the sunset. You might even consider bringing a tripod and snapping a family photo in front of the fluorescent sunset skies. Bayfront Park might not be the best place to swim unsupervised, though, as alligators call this beach home.

Explore the American Sport Art Museum & Archive

If you have sports fans in the family, you're in luck. Daphne is home to the American Sport Art Museum & Archive (ASAMA), a niche museum dedicated to art, literature, and media that celebrates the history of sports in America. Even if some family members aren't exactly sports buffs, there's plenty of unique art to appreciate, like photographs, paintings, and sculptures. ASAMA is likely the largest collection of sports-related art on the planet, with over 1,800 works of art. ASAMA is located at the United States Sports Academy at 1 Academy Drive in Daphne. It's open for visits Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Have a Picnic at the Joe Louis Patrick Park

There are plenty of public parks you can visit in Daphne to bask in the sunshine with family, but one of our favorites is Joe Louis Patrick Park at the Ruff Wilson Youth Center. Pack some sports equipment and lunch, and enjoy a picnic under the shade of the park's charming gazebo. Lush green trees and well-manicured grass make this park a welcome retreat from the fast pace of your busy life. When everyone's digested their lunch, head over to the softball field or basketball court to engage your competitive streak with a friendly family game.

Ride Horses at Lake Forest Stables

If your family wants to try something adventurous, head to Lake Forest Stables to try your hand at equestrianism with Vaughan Girls Stables, a local mother-daughter duo who operate their horseback riding business out of Lake Forest Stables. You can book a group lesson by the hour for the whole family, and you can get safe riding instructions if you're all beginners. If you're comfortable on a horse already, book a family trail ride on one of the 25 acres of riding trails that surround the property. Trail rides are a great way to connect with family and enjoy the great outdoors.

Chase Thrills at OWA

OWA, a 520-acre entertainment center in nearby Foley, Alabama, is a conglomerate of fun recreational destinations. There's shopping, dining, and theaters, but perhaps the most exciting parts of OWA are the Tropic Falls parks, an outdoor amusement park and an indoor water park. The outdoor park features 23 rides that cater to a variety of age groups, including classic rides like a twister, a giant swing, and a flying carousel. Younger kids might enjoy the Southern Express, the park's gentle children's roller coaster, or Tea Time, a ride made of spinning larger-than-life tea cups.

If you want to beat the heat, head to the Tropic Falls indoor water park. Opening this summer, you can be part of the park's first crowds. If your little ones are big enough and brave enough, they might enjoy cruising down some of the winding 75-foot-tall water slides. There's also a 30,000-square-foot wave pool outside if you'd rather lounge poolside and get some sun.

Shop at Fantasy Island Toys

These days, it's easier than ever to order toys online or keep kids busy with video games, so an old-fashioned toy store can be a welcome alternative. Whether your kids are interested in arts and crafts, outdoor activities, sports, or gadgets, Fantasy Island Toys in nearby Fairhope has a wide stock of unique toys that encourage education and exploration. Best sellers include a rock painting kit, an LED-lit basketball, and a butterfly garden. If you want to put a smile on your little ones' faces, stop by Fantasy Island Toys and let each child pick out a toy to bring home.
